Susan Hyatt
Founder and CEO Susan Hyatt is the founder and CEO of Business Nonprofit Connections, Inc., a business specializing in providing small and mid-sized companies with tools and resources to plan, manage, and measure their community impacts. In this role, she draws upon her expertise in the fields of corporate social responsibility, business philanthropy, nonprofit resource development and partnerships, and organization development to help client companies transform their good intentions into strategic actions with real impact on both the community and business performance and profitability. Her specialties include community involvement "audits", strategy planning to integrate community and business goals, and designing unique all-win community involvement initiatives. She loves working with clients who are motivated by the business value created by social responsibility and are committed to "Doing Good AND Doing Well." Prior to the start-up of Business Nonprofit Connections, Inc., Susan worked extensively with the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) for thirteen years providing consulting, facilitation, curriculum design, and training to Governors' Commissions on National and Community Service and AmeriCorps*State and National, VISTA, Learn and Serve America and Senior Corps (FGP, SCP, and RSVP) programs on topics such as resource development, strategic public-private and tri-sector partnerships, board development and training, performance measurement and program evaluation, and leadership and organization development. Other clients include the U.S. Agency for International Development, Save the Children, Heifer International, CARE, Habitat for Humanity, and Pathfinder International. Susan holds a Master's degree in Community/Public Health Nutrition with a specialization in international development from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She completed her PhD work in Sociology at Colorado State University in social change and organization development. She was a Fulbright Scholar to the University of Helsinki, Finland, and an AAAS Science, Engineering and Diplomacy Postdoctoral Fellow at the U.S. Agency for International Development in Washington, DC.
